more importantly put enough tape on the thread of the screw so it doesnt move

if from factory 26 then its a refurb bcos it supposed to be stamp.

thats incorrect. my rifle was made in 1979, well before US Congress changed the Gun Control Act in 1987 allowing imports of SKS from China

@@gnutzguy they exported them for cash all over the world. The US isn't the only country that imports guns. Your 79 model is very much a newer export model. Mine are from 62 and 65.

i dont believe factory 26 produced sks strictly for export... yes, they sell them, the PLA used, they donated whole bunch to vietnam and store them as reserves but not built them to sell for cash.

@@gnutzguy they didn't. They were made for possible military use until the Vietnam War ended, but factory 26 guns are all fully tested unlike other Chinese export guns.

@@gnutzguy As a Turk living in Turkey, I can guarantee you that civilians in Turkey are prohibited from buying rifled semi-automatic rifles, only those with a hunter's license can buy bolt action rifles.

@@gnutzguy Maybe, but hunting is just one or two shots, so the impact is limited. I usually wear hearing protection at the shooting range.

when i was younger it wasnt macho to wear protection of any kind so i fired 308 without hear aid. first shot my ears will be ringing, by the 3 shot i hear nothing, lol.

yes but you havta tighten the set screw on the bottom of your front sight block.

every gun is different but i tighten the day before i go to the range and i usually fire about 500. if i fire more then i tighten again.

@@gnutzguy And usually after 500, the feed ramp/chamber gets too dirty/carbon that it misfeeds. Depends on type of ammo how long it will get dirty to cause an issue.

@gnutzguy naw, plenty of them down here. 😂 I'm just trying to keep my variety of ammo to a minimum, so got a gsg16 for close up a marlin 22 for longer range, and looking at a ar7 for long walks. Since you are doing more 22 stuff I'm a big fan.
